Nissan Australia revealed overnight that after a review of its passenger car line-up it would pull the Nissan Micra from sale here, which should give the new Kia Picanto more opportunity. The Nissan Pulsar hatchback is also being dropped while the Pulsar sedan will continue.

But the most frustrating news for 4×4 enthusiasts is that the Y61 Patrol and Patrol cab chassis are now in runout with stock expected to be depleted by the end of the year.

“These decisions are in line with our commitment to running a robust business in Australia, led by strong products including QASHQAI, X-TRAIL and Navara,” said Nissan Motor Co. (Australia) Managing Director and CEO Richard Emery.

“Complete after-sales service and technical support for the affected models will continue to be available from our Australian authorised dealer network.
